Lady Gaga performs 2 new tracks on The X Factor

Blonde wigs, flesh coloured lingerie... and Botticelli's Birth Of Venus: Lady Gaga is out of this world as she performs two new tracks on The X Factor

It was always going to be an outlandish affair, but even by her own attention grabbing standards Lady Gaga’s much anticipated performance on The X Factor proved to be surprisingly subdued.
The singer is currently preparing for the release of third album ARTPOP, and her appearance at the Fountain Studios in Wembley on Sunday evening was just the latest in a furious and frequently bizarre promotional campaign ahead of its release on November 8.
Following an extroverted piece of performance art in Berlin on Friday, Gaga was on the X Factor stage wearing a blonde wig and dressed in flesh coloured lingerie while she strummed the opening chords of promotional single Venus on an acoustic guitar.

Surrounded by a troupe of scantily clad dancers, Gaga worked her way through the first verse of what was originally intended to be the second single from the new LP, before it was dropped in favour of Do What U Want, featuring R. Kelly.

You'll catch a cold: Lady Gaga poses with X Factor judge Gary Barlow, wearing Just Cavalli, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh after her performance on Sunday night

When she left the Fountain studios after her X Factor performance, Lady was shielded against the elements as a guard held an umbrella over her head.
She wore a scarf over her head and sunglasses to shield her from the elements but only wore a small jacket over her skimpy outfit.
She gave her all throughout her energetic performance and was seen holding a can of energy drink, Red Bull as she exited the venue.
Venus will be available to download from Sunday night.
